In Aktobe region more than 7 billion tenge will be allocated for the restoration of irrigated land.

The director of branch of RSE “Kazvodkhoz” in Aktobe Mr. Nametov Bekzat has reported about this during a press conference in the Regional Communication Service.

According to him, in 5 districts of the region it is planned to restore 15.662 thousand hectares of land worth over 7 billion tenge.

The project will be implemented using an EBRD loan and will allow to apply the best  international practices in projects implementation and effective organization, which is very important for the quality of civil works and preparation for the operation of project systems.

«As a result of the project, the region’s annual gross productivity of irrigated land will be increased up to 35 billion tenge per year, by restoration and improvement of water supply of unused land. Also, the project implementation on the restoration and saving of irrigated agriculture will allow to open up to 8 thousand jobs for rural residents, “said Mr.Nametov.

To date, 21.5 thousand hectares of irrigated land have been mastered in the region. And the next year, the irrigated area will be increased by another 8.9 thousand hectares.  In addition, 10 water reservoirs will be constructed in the region. And with their commissioning, the area of irrigated land can be doubled and brought to 80 thousand hectares, – reports the Regional Communications Service of Aktobe region.
